After more than five years doing a job he loved with an employer that he felt was long term, Eric Macy found himself without a job.
Eric, an engineer with a degree from the University of Illinois, had been the Engineering and Quality Manager for the Bose Plant in Hillsdale, Mi. providing leading edge manufacturing plant floor information technology and computer networking processes. Things were good. Then things changed.
Eric and his wife Jonna had fallen in love with living in Hillsdale County and did not want to relocate. Eric decided to try out his entrepreneurial wings and launched Nonik Technologies in September 2002. Bose became Nonik�s first customer and Eric still provides manufacturing IT services on a contract basis for several Bose Plants in North America and Mexico.
Nonik began providing computing software, hardware networking and web site services for the businesses in Hillsdale County. As Eric built the client base for Nonik he began to realize that there was a real need for small to medium sized businesses (SMB) in small communities to have professional Information Technology (IT) assistance.

Most small to medium sized businesses could not afford to hire full time computer experts, and when they did: the technicians soon left them for bigger opportunities.
Eric began providing Managed IT Services to small businesses where he serves as their Computing Department on a part time basis shared with other SMB's. With this Managed IT Services approach SMB pay only a small share of the cost of a full time IT professional and have the long term, highly experienced, management oriented business technician Nonik Team at their service. Nonik is experienced and certified with current technology.
In October, 2006 Nonik moved into downtown Hillsdale at 77 N. Broad Street, and set up a computing server system there to provide online monitoring of client computing systems. Nonik�s Avalon Service plans provide SMB clients with fixed price computer system and networking service and maintenance.

As a SMB�s Information Technology Department, Nonik works with its clients to access computing needs, specify, select and procure computing hardware, software and networking components. Nonik then installs tests and documents the IT systems to have them serving the client�s business needs on a dependable basis. Nonik provides routine and downtime maintenance and can also monitor client computing systems on a remote basis and many times solve problems and make changes remotely from its Broad St. computing center.

Eric continues to drive Nonik�s growth in the small to medium sized business community. Eric feels that any SMB that has five or more personal/business computers that are networked together providing daily business functions for the employees and customers of that business would benefit by talking with him and considering Nonik�s Managed IT services.
